In the Golden Dawn, there was a saying that you must always invoke the highest first. Practically, this was a simple invocation that reminded you of your divine spark and ensured that lesser spirits acknowledged, at least unconsciously, that you stood on equal or higher ground. The First Pentacle of the Sun establishes authority by making the divine presence unavoidable, removing any ambiguity about what is being invoked and how it behaves.

At its centre sits the face of Metatron, direct and confrontational, fixing attention before the mind can start translating symbols into something comfortable. You do not get a leisurely moment to interpret.
